Patna : Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases rose to 45,919 in Bihar on July 29, 2020, afternoon, with 2,328 more persons including 337 from Patna, 161 from Bhojpur, 109 from Aurangabad, 10 from Samastipur, 57 from Bhagalpur, and 59 from Buxar testing positive to it.
So far, 30,504 Corona patients have been cured in Bihar with the recovery rate being 66.43%. During last 24 hours, 1,284 patients were declared cured. The number of active cases in the state stands at 15,141.
The COVID-19 death toll in Bihar jumped to 273 on July 29, 2020, including 41 in Patna, 26 in Bhagalpur, 19 in Gaya, 15 in Nalanda, 11 in Munger, 11 in Muzaffarpur, 10 in Darbhanga, 10 in Begusarai, 10 in East Champaran, 10 in Samastipur, and 9 in Saran.
Coordinated implementation of “Test Track Treat” strategy by the Union and State/UT governments has effectively ensured that the Case Fatality Rate (CFR) is maintained at a low level compared to the global scenario, and it has been progressively falling. The Case Fatality Rate was 2.23% on July 29, 2020, and it is lowest since April 1, 2020, according to a PIB release.
There was a consistent trend of more than 30,000 recoveries/day for the sixth consecutive day.The total number of recovered cases is fast approaching 1 million. With 35,286 patients discharged in the last 24 hours, the total recoveries have jumped to 9,88,029.
The recovery rate has reached another high of 64.51% amongst COVID-19 patients.With such consistent increase in recoveries, the gap between recovered patients and active COVID-19 cases currently stands at 4,78,582. Active cases (5,09,447) are under medical supervision.
