Patna : The number of COVID-19 cases recorded in Bihar surged to 2,06,961 on October 20, 2020, afternoon, with 1,837 more persons including 392 from Patna, 114 from Sitamarhi, 98 from Nalanda, 66 from Saharsa, 64 from Gaya, 59 from Araria, 57 from Madhubani, 55 from Muzaffarpur, 52 each from Katihar and Madhepura, 53 from Bhojpur, and 51 from West Champaran, testing positive to it on October 19, 2020. Bihar had reported only 912 COVID-19 cases on October 19, 2020, and 1,152 cases on October 18.

According to State Health Department figure, 46 persons from Sheikhpura, 45 from Munger,  44 from East Champaran, 41 from Darbhanga, 38 from Begusarai, 37 each from Bhagalpur and Gopalganj, 36 from Lakhisarai, 35 each from Purnia and Saran, 33 from Jamui, 31 each from Siwan and Jehanabad, 28 each from Aurangabad, Nawada, Kishanganj, and Rohtas, 25 from Banka, and 24 from Supaul also tested positive to COVID-19 on October 19, 2020.

Of the 2,06,961 COVID-19 cases reported in Bihar so far, altogether 1,94,889 patients have been declared cured including 1,100 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 94.17%. Bihar has tested 93,89,946 samples till date including 1,41,294 samples on October 19, 2020. The number of active cases was 11,060 in the state on October 20, 2020.

The COVID-19 jumped to 1,011 in Bihar on October 20, 2020, with 8 new deaths being reported during last 24 hours including 2 from Gopalganj, and one each from Patna, Gaya, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Rohtas, and Buxar. The toll increased to 247 in Patna on October 20, 2020.
