Patna : The number of COVID-19 cases rose 1,44,134 in Bihar on September 4, 2020, as 1,978 more persons including 258 from Patna, 134 from Muzaffarpur, 117 from Araria, 91 from Purnia, 91 from Bhagalpur, 88 from Nawada, and 84 from East Champaran, tested positive to it on September 3, 2020.

According to sources in State Health Department, 64 persons in Saharsa, 64 persons in Gopalganj, 63 in Saran, 61 in Madhubani, 57 in Samastipur, 54 in Sitamarhi, 52 in West Champaran, 52 in Begusarai, 52 in Gaya, 51 in Madhepura, 51 in Supaul, 49 in Aurangabad, 46 in Nalanda, also tested positive to COVID-19 on September 3, 2020.

Of the 1,44,134 in Bihar, a total of 1,26,411 patients have been declared cured/discharged in the state till date including 1,435 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 87.7 %. The state has tested 37,21,250 COVID-19 samples so far including 1,50,195 on September 3, 2020. The number of active cases in Bihar was 16,981 on September 4, 2020.

The COVID-19 death toll, on the other hand, jumped to 741 on September 4, 2020, with 13 new deaths being reported from different places during last 24 hours including three from Patna, two from East Champaran, two from Saharsa, and one each from Bhojpur, Araria, Buxar, Jehanabad, Arwal, and Vaishali.

The toll in Patna climbed to 175 in Patna, which has reported 21,833 COVID cases. Araria District has reported 3,505 cases while Katihar has reported 4,755 cases. Kishanganj has reported 2,295 cases while Purnia has reported 5,254 positive cases till date.
