Patna : The number of COVID-19 cases increased to 1,61,101 in Bihar on September 15, 2020, afternoon, as 1,575 more persons including 183 from Patna, 100 from Supaul, 77 from Purnia, 75 from Araria, 72 from Nalanda, 72 from Bhagalpur, 62 from West Champaran, 57 fro  Muzaffarpur, 53 from East Champaran, and 53 from Katihar tested positive to it on September 14, 2020.

According to State Health Department, 45 persons from Saran, 44 from Gopalganj, 42 from Saharsa, 42 from Kishanganj, 39 from Gaya, 38 from Lakhisarai, 36 from Begusarai, 33 from Jamui, 33 from Madhepura, 32 from Banka, 31 from Sitamarhi, 29 from Aurangabad,29 from Darbhanga, also tested positive to COVID-19 on September 14, 2020.

Of 1,61,101 COVID-19 cases reported so far in the state, a total of 1,46,533 patients have been declared cured including 1,514 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 90.96%. Bihar has tested 50,94,239 COVID samples till date including 1,07,492 samples on September 14, 2020. The number of active cases in the state was 13,731.

The COVID-19 death toll jumped to 836 in the state on September 15 with five new deaths being reported from different places including two from Bhagalpur, and one each from Rohtas, Purnia. and Lakhisarai.
