Gopalganj: The court of  ADJ-VI, Gopalganj,  on Wednesday asked for all the documents including the chargesheet filed by police in Khajoorbani liquor tragedy case in Gopalganj district. The court sought the documents for hearing the bail petitions of the accused. The court fixed the next date of hearing on October 22.

It may be mentioned here that a lawyer Ved Prakash Tripathi had filed bail petitions of Chatu Choudhary, Rajesh Pasi, Sanoj Pasi, Munna Choudhary, Ranjay Choudhary and Sanjay Choudhary in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate on September 1, 2016. All of them are currently lodged in Gopalganj divisional jail. But, the court rejected their bail petitions on September 2.

Later, bail petitions were filed in the court of District and Sessions Judge Court on September 9 and the court had directed the police to submit all the necessary documents before it. However, the documents could not be submitted even on September 24 in the said court and it later transferred the case to the court of ADJ-VI.

On Wednesday, the defence lawyer pleaded that all his clients were innocent and they should be granted bail. However, Special PP, Excise Department, Ravi Bhushan Srivastava said that chargesheet had been filed against 13 accused in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate.
