New Delhi : Coronavirus (COVID-19) death toll jumped to 1,373 in India including 548 in Maharashtra, 290 in Gujarat, 156 in MP, 71 in Rajasthan, and 64 in Delhi at 8 am on May 4, 2020. Sixtyseven new deaths have been reported since the last update released by Union H&FW Ministry on May 3, 2020, evening.
Coronavirus death toll has reached 43 in UP, 35 in West Bengal, 33 in Andhra Pradesh, 30 in Tamilnadu, 29 in Telangana, 25 in Karnataka, 21 in Punjab, 8 in J&K, 5 in Haryana, 4 each in Bihar and Kerala, 3 in Jharkhand, and one each in Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Odisha, and Assam. The number of COVID-19 active cases stands at 29,453 in the country.
In a significant development, the number of COVID-19 patients cured/discharged shot up to 11,706 in the country including 2,115 in Maharashtra, 1,379 in Tamilnadu, 1,362 in Delhi, 1,356 Rajasthan, 1,042 in Gujarat, 798 in MP, 754 in UP, 488 in Andhra Pradesh, and 287 in J&K.
