New Delhi : The number of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) confirmed cases had surged to 7,23,605 in USA on April 20, 2020, while the death toll due to the disease had shot up to 34,203 including 1,776 new deaths in the country, according to WHO Situation Report-91, COVID-19.
Coronavirus death toll in Italy, which accounted for 1,78,972 COVID-19 confirmed cases on April 20, 2020, had jumped to 23,660 including 433 new deaths. COVID-19 death toll in Spain, which accounted for 1,95,944 confirmed cases on the day, had reached 20,453 including 410 new deaths.
COVID-19 death toll in UK had reached 16,060 including 596 new deaths on April 20 while in France the death toll has reached 19,689 including 395 new deaths.
China had reported 84,237 COVID-19 confirmed cases till April 20 while the death toll due to the disease had reached 4,642 with no new death reported in the country. Coronavirus death toll in Iran has increased to 5,118 including 87 new deaths. Pakistan had reported 176 deaths due to COVID-19 till April 20, 2020.
WHO continues to facilitate direct and remote technical assistance to countries through Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GORAN) regional and global network of network to support health operation.
