New Delhi : The number of Coronavirus (COVID-19) patients cured/discharged jumped to 48,533 in India at 8 am on May 22, 2020, an increase of 3,234 since the last update issued by Union H &FW Ministry on May 21, 2020. Coronavirus death toll too has climbed to 3,583 in India, an increase of 148 during last 24 hours. The number of active cases in the country stands at 66,330.

The number of patients cured/discharged include 11,726 in Maharashtra, 6,282 in Tamilnadu, 5,567 in Delhi, 5,488 in Gujarat, 3,485 in Rajasthan, 3,204 in UP,  2,843 in MP, 1,819 in Punjab, 1,709 in Andhra Pradesh, 1,193 in West Bengal, 1,035 in Telangana,  684 in J&K, 681 in Haryana, 593 in Bihar, 571 in Karnataka, 510 in Kerala, 393 in Odisha, and 129 in Jharkhand.

The COVID-19 death toll break -up is : Maharashtra (1,454), Gujarat (773), MP (270), West Bengal (259), Delhi (194), Rajasthan (151), UP (138), Tamilnadu (94), Andhra Pradesh (53), Telengana (45),  Karnataka (41), Punjab (39), J&K (20), Haryana (15), Bihar (11),  Odisha (7), Assam (4), Kerala (4), Himachal Pradesh( 3), Chandigarh (3), Jharkhand (3), Uttarakhand (1), Meghalaya 91).
