Patna : The novel Coronavirus ( COVID-19) death toll jumped to 25 in India at 10 am on March 29, 2020, registering an increase of six since the last update on March 28, 2020. The number of Coronavirus confirmed cases has surged to 979 in the country recording an increase of 70 since the last update on March 28 evening. This figure including 48 foreign nationals, 87 cured/discharged/migrated cases, and 25 deaths. The silver lining is number of cured/discharged/migrated cases is also increasing faster.
The death toll includes 6 in Maharashtra, 4 in Gujarat, 3 in Karnataka, 2 each in Madhya Pradesh (MP) and Delhi, and one each in Bihar, Punjab, J&K, Himachal Pradesh (HP), West Bengal, Telangana, Kerala, and Tamilnadu.
Among the States and UTs,Maharashtra tops the list with 186 confirmed cases including 3 foreigners closely followed by Kerala with 182 confirmed cases including 8 foreign nationals. Karnataka accounts for 76 confirmed cases while the figure stands at 66 including 10 foreign nationals in Telangana. The figure stands at 55 in Uttar Pradesh (UP), 54 in Rajasthan, 53 in Gujarat, 42 in Tamilnadu, 39 in Delhi, 38 in Punjab, 30 in MP, 33 in Haryana including 14 foreigners, 31 in J&K, 17 in West Bengal, and 14 in Andhra Pradesh.
In Bihar, the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases stands at 9 while Andamans & Nicobar Islands has reported 9 cases. Chandigarh has reported 8 cases so far. Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand account for 6 active cases each while UT Ladakh has reported 13 cases. In Odisha, the figure stands at 3 while Goa has reported 2 cases. Mizoram, Manipur, and Puducherry have reported 1 active cases each, according to Union Health & Family Welfare Ministry.
