New Delhi : The novel Coronvirus (COVID-19) death toll increased to 16 in India at 8 pm on March 26, 2020, with Gujarat and Maharashtra accounting three deaths each while Karnataka has recorded two deaths. Bihar, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Tamilnadu, and West Bengal have recorded one death each so far.
The number of Coronavirus confirmed cases increased to 694 in the country, an increase of 45 since the last update at 10.15 am on March 26, 2020. The figure includes 47 foreign nationals and 45 cured/discharged/migrated cases.
Among States and UTs, Maharashtra tops the list with 124 confirmed cases including 3 foreigners followed by Kerala with 118 cases including 8 foreign nationals. In Karnataka, the figure stands at 55 while in Gujarat it at 43 including a foreigner. Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan have recorded 41 active cases each.
Telangana has recorded 44 active cases including 10 foreign nationals. The figure stands at 33 in Punjab and 36 in Delhi. Tamilnadu has recorded 26 cases including 6 foreigners while Andhra Pradesh accounts for 11 active cases. UTs J&K and Ladakh have recorded 13 active cases each while in Chandigarh the figure stands at 7.
Chhattisgarh and Bihar have reported 6 confirmed cases each while Haryana accounts for 30 cases including 14 foreign nationals. Goa and Himachal Pradesh have recorded 3 cases each while Uttarakhan has reported 4 cases. West Bengal has reported 10 active cases while Odisha has reported 2 such cases. Manipur, Mizoram, Puduchery, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands have reported one case each, according to Health & Family Welfare Ministry.
