New Delhi : The number of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed cases surged to 724 in India at 9.15 am on March 27, 2020, with 30 new active cases being reported since the last update on March 26, 2020, evening. The figure includes 47 foreign nationals, 47 cured/discharged/migrated cases, and 17 deaths.
Of the 17 deaths, Maharashtra accounts for 4, Gujarat 3, and Karnataka 2, while Bihar, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamilnadu, West Bengal, and Jammu & Kashmir, have reported one death each.
Among the states and UTs, Kerala tops the list with 137 Coronavirus confirmed cases including 8 foreign nationals followed by Maharashtra with 130 cases including 3 foreign nationals. The figure stands at 55 in Karnataka and 43 in Gujarat.
Telangana has reported 45 active cases including 10 foreigners while Rajasthan accounts for 41 cases including 2 foreign nationals. The figure stands at 41 in Uttar Pradesh including one foreigner while Delhi accounts for 36 cases including 1 foreigner. Tamilnadu has recorded 29 active cases including 6 foreigners while Andhra Pradesh has reported 12 active cases.
J&K and Ladakh have reported 13 active cases each while Bihar and Chhattisgarh have recorded 6 active cases each. Chandigarh accounts for 7 confirmed cases while Haryana has reported 30 active cases including 14 foreign nationals.
Goa and Himachal Pradesh have reported 3 active cases each while the figure stands at 2 in Odisha. West Bengal has reported 10 cases while Uttarakhand accounts for 4 active cases. In Punjab, the figure stands at 33. Manipur, Mizoram, Puduchery, and Andamans & Nicobars Islands have reported one active cases each, according to Union Health & Family Welfare Ministry, Government of India.
Globally, Coronavirus death toll had surged to 7,505 on March 26, 2020, in Italy including 685 new deaths while Spain recorded 3,434 deaths including 738 new deaths.
The death toll due to Coronavirus was 3,293 in China on March 26, 2020, including 6 new deaths. USA had reported 884 deaths till March 26, 2020, including 211 new cases while Iran had reported 2,077 deaths including 143 new deaths. France had reported 1,331 deaths including 231 new deaths while UK had reported 463 deaths including 41 new deaths, according to WHO figure..
