Patna : The number of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed cases increased to 3,030 in India at 9 am on April 5, 2020, registering an increase of 128 new cases since the last update issued by Union Health & Family Welfare Ministry on April 4, 2020, evening. The COVID-19 death toll has increased to 77. But, the most significant development is that the number of cured/discharged patients has jumped to 266 in the country. One patient has migrated.
Out of total 3,030 cases reported, 1,023 cases have been linked to Tablighi Jamaat across 17 States which includes Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, J&K, Rajasthan, Telangana, A&N Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, according to a PIB release.
Among the states, Maharashtra had reported 537 active cases till April 4 2020, while Tamilnadu had reported 411 active cases. Uttar Pradesh reported 227 active cases including 94 cases linked to Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi in March 2020. Gujarat hhas reported 122 active cases. Bihar had reported 29 active cases till April 4, 2020.
