New Delhi : The number of Coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed cases surged to 1,397 in India including 49 foreigh nationals at 8.30 pm on March 31, 2020. Coronavirus death toll in India has jumped to 35 including 9 in Maharashtra, 6 in Gujarat, 3 each in Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh (MP), and Punjab, 2 each in Delhi, J&K, and West Bengal, and one each in Bihar, Telangana, Tamilnadu, Kerala, and Himachal Pradesh  (HP).

Among States and UTs, Kerala tops the list with 234 COVID-19 confirmed cases followed by Maharashtra with 216 cases. The figure stands at 101 in Uttar Pradesh, 97 in Delhi, 83 in Karnataka, 79 in Telangana, 74 each in Tamilnadu and Rajasthan, 73 in Gujarat, 54 in J&K, 47 in MP, 40 each in Haryana and Andhra Pradesh, 26 in West Bengal, 15 in Bihar, 10 in Andamans & Nicobar Islands, 13 in Chandigarh, 8 in Chhattisgarh, 5 in Goa, 3 in Himachal Pradesh, 13 in Ladakh, 3 in Odisha, and one each in Manipur, Mizoram, and Puducherry, according to Union Health & Family Welfare Ministry.

The important development is that the number of cured/discharged/ migrated cases has increased to 124 including 39 in Maharashtra, 21 in Haryana, 19 in Kerala, and 5 in Karnataka.
