Saharsa : Seven persons tested positive to Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Saharsa District in North Bihar on May 10, 2020, taking the total of such cases in the district to ten. Saharsa DM Kaushal Kumar while addressing a presser on May 10 said the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases had increased to 10 in the district.
Of the seven persons who tested positive to Coronavirus on May 10, five belonged to Saharsa Basti under Sadar Police Station and one each to Sahmoorha under Sonbarsaraj Block and Madanpur under Simribakhtiarpur Block. The seven new patients are in 13-25 year age group. The local authorities are looking into their infection trail. Saharsa District Administration has started sealing the areas concerned. It has also cancelled its earlier order allowing opening of certain shops until further order.
Saharsa DM Kaushal Kumar said that a Shramik Special Train had brought over to Saharsa Junction 1,015 Madrasa students from Nandurbar in Maharashtra on May 6, 2020. They included 180 children from Saharsa District in North Bihar of which samples of 40 children were sent for test. Twentyone of them tested negative to COVID-19 while 10 have tested positive to the disease, DM Kumar said. The report of the remaining 9 samples is yet to arrive , the DM added.
Of the seven COVID-19 confirmed cases reported on May 10, 2020, from neighbouring Madhepura district, 6 were reported from Puraini and one from Ghailad. They are in 10-20 year age group.
