Patna : Coronavirus (COVID-19) confirm cases reached 574 on May 8, 2020, in Bihar with 24 persons including six from Samastipur, four each from Darbhanga and Khagaria, two from Saharsa testing positive to the disease in the state on the day. COVID-19 death toll remains five in Bihar.
Of the four COVID-19 confirmed cases from Darbhanga District in Bihar, three were reported from Biroul while the two cases from Saharsa were reported from Saur Bazaar. One confirmed cases was reported from Gedawadi in Katihar District. One case each was reported from East Champaran, Supaul, Banka, Bhagalpur, Begusarai, Nawada, and Nalanda District Districts. The local authorities are looking into their infection trail.
Meanwhile, Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) in Bihar has come down to 32, equal to the national average. Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey on May 8, 2020, welcomed the development.
