Patna : Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases jumped to 6,940 in Bihar on June 17, 2020, night, with 51 more persons including 14 from Gaya District, seven from Begusarai, seven from Munger, three each from Rohtas, Bhagalpur an Nalanda, testing positive to it.

Two persons from Katihar, two from Madhepura, two from Muzaffarpur, and one person each from Patna, Darbhanga, East Champaran, Vaishali, Sheohar, and West Champaran, also tested positive to Coronavirus on the day. The new patients are in 5- 74 year age group and the authorities are ascertaining their infection trail.

In Gaya District, five cases were reported from Banke Bazar, six from Imamganj, two from Gaya , and one from Bodh Gaya. In Begusarai District in North Bihar, three cases were reported from Birpur, and two each from Begusarai, and Balia. In Bhagalpur District, one case each was reported from Sanhaula, Bhagalpur, and Rangrachowk. In Darbhanga District, one case was reported from Darbhanga town while in East Champaran, one case was reported from Chiraiya.

In Munger District, three cases were reported from Sangrampur, two from Tarapur, and one each from Bariarpur and Haveli Kharagpur. In Nalanda District, one case each was reported from Katarisarai, Biharsharif, and warisaliganj. In Madhepura District, one case was reported from Madhepura town and Chausa. In Katihar district, one case each was reported from Pranpur an Balrampur. In Muzaffarpur, one case each was reported from Paroo and Mushahari.

In Rohtas District, two cases were reported from Dehri and one from Sheosagar. In Patna District, one case was reported from Patna town. In West Champaran, one case was reported from Bagaha -1 while in Vaishali District, one case was reported from Mahnar. In Sheohar District, one case was reported from Sheohar Town.

A total of 1,86,934 patients, so far, have been cured of COVID-19. The recovery rate has climbed to 52.80%. At present, 1,55,227 active cases are under medical supervision, according to a PIB release. The number of government labs has been increased to 674 while private labs has been increased to 250 for testing. In the last 24 hours, 1,63,187 samples were tested. The total number of samples tested thus far is 60,84,256.
