Patna : Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases climbed to 6,889 in Bihar on June 17, 2020, with 79 more persons including 11 from Siwan District, 10 from Lakhisarai,  8 from Araria, 8 from Jehanabad, seven from Patna, six from Begusarai, six from Madhubani, six from Samastipur, testing positive to it. The new patients are in 2-68 year age group and the local authorities are ascertaining their infection trail. Coronavirus death toll in Bihar stands at 41.

In Siwan District in North Bihar, all 11 cases were reported from Goreakothi. In neighbouring Saran  District, two cases were reported from Marhaurah. In Araria District, six cases were reported from Araria urban and two from Bhargama. In Aurangabad District, three cases were reported from Aurangabad urban. In Begusarai District in North Bihar, six cases were reported from Begusarai urban. In Bhagalpur District in eastern Bihar, one case each was reported from Sanhaula and Gopalpur.

In Madhubani District in North Bihar, four cases were reported from Khutauna and one each from Madhwapur and Rahika. In Buxar District, three cases were reported from Chaugain and one from Rajpur. In Jehanabad District, three cases were reported from Hulasganj, three from Kako, and two from Makhdumpur. In Madhepura District, one case was reported from Ghailarh.

In Patna District, four cases were reported from Patna and one each from Nehrunagar, Paliganj and Patna City. In Samastipur District, five cases were reported from Vivek Vihar and one from Kalyanpur. In Rohtas District, two cases were reported from Rohtas. In Nalanda, one case each was reported from Hilsa and Biharsharif.

In Lakhisarai District, four cases were reported from Ramgarh Chowk, three from Channan, and one each from Suryagarha, Dihra and Pipariya. In Banka District, one case was reported from Phulidumar.
