Patna : Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases rose to 2,511 in Bihar on May 24, 2020, evening, with 34 persons including 11 from Banka, seven from Purnia, four from Bhagalpur, and three from Katihar testing positive to the disease. The patients are in 8-48 year age group. The local authorities are looking into their infection trail.

In Banka district in Eastern Bihar, seven cases were reported from Banka Urban, two from Dhoraiya, and one each from Rajoun and Bounsi. In neighbouring Bhagalpur district, four cases were reported from Sultanganj. In Katihar, two cases were reported from Barsoi and one from Kursela.

In Purnia District, two casses ewere reported from Srinagar, two from Baisa, and one each from Krityanand Nagar, Jalalgarh, and Purnia East. In Samastipur, two cases were reported from Rosera and one Samastipur Urban. In Sheikhpura, three cases were reported from Sheikhpura Urban. One case each was reported from Lakhisarai and Jamui.

Till 11 am on May 24, 2020, patna District had reported 196 confirmed cases of Coronavirus followed by Rohtas with 151 cases. Munger District had reported 145 cases while Begusarai District had reported 141 cases. Madhubani District had reported 136 confirmed cases while Katihar had recorded 121 cases and Khagaria 118 cases. Buxar had reported 110 cases while Jehanabad had reported 109 casses and Gopalganj 91 casses.

Twelve persons had died due to Coronavirus in Bihar till May 24 morning. Patna, Vaishali,  and Khagaria districts have recorded two deaths each while Rohtas, Munger, Begusarai, East Champaran, Saran, and Sitamarhi have reported one death each.
