Constable fires at ASI on train in Katihar, arrested

Patna : A constable Dayanidhi on October 22, 2018, fired at his senior on board a train in Katihar district which they had boarded as part of the escort team.

Government Railway Police (GRP) sources said the incident took place when the Sealdah-bound ‘Hate Bazare Express’ was approaching Karhagola Road station in Katihar district. Dayanidhi had an altercation with assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Sunil Kumar Das after which he fired a couple of rounds at him from his service rifle but the  bullets did not hit Das, sources added.

Dayanidhi was overpowered by the escort party with the help of passengers and was arrested after the train reached Katihar Junction. His service rifle was also seized, sources added.
