New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bangladesh Prime MinisterSheikh Hasina and the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee on November 9, 2017, jointly inaugurated a series of connectivity projects between the two countries. They include the second Bhairab and Titas Railway Bridges and the International Rail Passenger Terminus at Chitpur in Kolkata.
The dignitaries also flagged off the inaugural run of the Bandhan Express between Kolkata and Khulna in Bangladesh. The three leaders launched the train through video conference. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj also joined the event from New Delhi, according to a PIB release.
