Ara : Two Motorcycle borne unidentified miscreants pumped four bullets into the body of owner of a Coaching Institute Ranjan Kumar, son of Om Prakash Gupta of Banstal locality under Ara Town police station, from point blank range near Birahimpur-Karaza village under Barhara police station on Ara-Barahara main road in Bhojpur district on September 24, 2020, late evening, when he was going to Bakhorapur on his motorcycle along with a woman. The miscreants escaped from the spot after firing.
The locals informed police about firing and rushed the injured Coaching Institute owner to Ara Sadar Hospital where the doctor referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in view of his critical condition. The locals said that after the incident, the woman went with a person on another motorcycle. Ranjan Kumar’sfather Om Prakash Gupta runs a medical shop at Banstal locality.
Later, police arrested the woman of Banstal, who was accompanying Ranjan Kumar on the motorcycle, to quiz her. Police also recovered three blank cartridges of 9mm caliber from the spot. An FIR has been lodged with Barhara police station in this connection. Police are conducting raids to arrest the miscreants.
SHO, Barhara police station, Awadhesh Kumar Singh, on September 25, 2020, said that Ranjan Kumar of Banstal locality under Ara Town police station,was going to Bakhorapur under Barhara police station along with Nishi Sah of the area. When he reached near Birahimpur-Karaza village under Barhara police station, two bike borne unidentified two armed miscreants intercepted him and pumped four bullets into his body and escaped. Ranjan Kumar gave Nishi tuition at her residence at Banstal.
The SHO stated that Nishi Sah disclosed that they were coming from Bakhorapur while the locals said that they were going to Bakhorapur. The SHO said that it is also not clear whether the miscreants fired on running motorcycle.
SDPO, Ara Pankaj Kumar Rawat, said at Ara Sadar Hospital that police are conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. He added that the CCTV of the area would confirm whether they were going to Bakhorapur or returning from there. The SHO said that Ranjan ran a coaching centre at Saraiya under Krishnagarh police station earlier but now he runs a coaching centre at Ara.
