Class X girl raped in Bhojpur village, accused at large

Ara : A named FIR was lodged with Women’s Police Station, Ara,  against Vikas Kumar, son of Tapeshwar Ram alias Daroga Ram, of Chawaria village under Suryapura police station in Rohtas district on August 8, 2019, for allegedly outraging modesty of a teenage girl.

Police are investigating into the matter and also conducitng raids to arrest the accused. Police brought the girl over to Ara Sadar Hospital for medical examination and also produced her before an Ara Court to get her statement recorded under Section 164 of CrPC.

SHO, Women’s Police Station, quoting the FIR, said that a Baraat had come to village Bhairodiha under Charpokhari police station. Vikas Kumar, who had also come to attend the marriage ceremony where he met the girl, a Class X student, of Charpokhari police station area and fell in love with her, the SHO said.

Vikas Kumar allegedly gifted a mobile phone to the girl and both talked on telephone for hours. Vikas Kumar met her regularly on Ara-Sasaram main road en route her school. The SHO said that Vikas Kumar enticed and promised to marry her and allegedly outraged her modesty. When she pressurised him for marriage, he refused. At this, she instituted a named FIR with Women’s police station, Ara, against Vikas Kumar and also submitted their photograph to the police station.
