Bagaha : Chief Justice, Patna High Court, Amareshwar Pratap Shahi, accompanied by Inspecting Judge, West Champaran district, Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh, visited Civil Court, Bagaha, on March 18, 2019, and inspected a site selected for construction of a building to accomodate judicial officers and a five-storey under-construction court building providing for 15 courts being constructed at a cost of Rs 25.42 crore.
Addressing the Members of Bar Association at Bar Building, Bagaha, the Chief Justice said that new court building will be ready by May this year and 10 out of 15 courts will start functioning from there equipped with mordern facilities including ACs and CCTV cameras. He said that the cases like Excise and Prohibition, Maintenance, Electricity, Pocso, Narcotic Drugs and other cases falling under jurisdiction of Bagaha, which are at present being taken up at Bettiah, will return here.
The Chief Justice, on the request of the Bar Association, said that strength of courts will increase after March this year and burden of cases on the court will come down. According to Bagaha Bar Association President Indubhusan Pandey, at present only four courts including that of an ADJ are functioning here with heavy burden of cases.
The Chief Justice asked District Magistrate, West Champaran, Nilesh Ramchandra Deore, to provide land for sitting arrangement of lawyers near new court building. The chief justice had inaugurated a five-storey court building providing for 15 courts at Bettiah on March 17, 2019. The Chief Justice will stay at Valmikinagar on March 18, 2019, night.
