Chhattisgarh police arrest 2 vehicle lifters from Koelwar, seize stolen Sumo

Ara : Chhattishgarh police, with the help of their Bhojpur counterparts, conducted raids at Koelwar under the same police station on March 1, 2019, night, and arrested two members of a vehicle lifters’ gang. They were identified as Manjeet Singh of Ara and Ajeet Singh of Buxar. Police also seized a stolen Sumo from their possession. Chhattisgarh police took them to Chhatishgarh on March 2, 2019.

Sub-Inspector (SI), Chandrashekhar Soni, of Chhatisgarh police said that Manjeet Singh and Ajeet Singh stole luxury cars in Chhattisgarh and had stolen at least eight luxury cars since 2016. After committing crime there, they used to return to Bhojpur where they used these stolen vehicles in liquor and ganja smuggling. A few vehicles stolen by them in Chhattisgarh were seized by Ara Town and Nawada police stations while carrying liquor and Ganja. He said that on the basis of mobile surveillance, the Jewara Sirasa Police Outpost in Durg district in Chhatisgarh reached Bhojpur on March 1, 2019, evening, and with the help of their Bhojpur police conducted raids at Koelwar and arrested the vehicle lifters.
