Chas( Jharkhand) :  A day-long biennial House  Cultural Function ‘Unmesh’ was organised on December 24, 2019, on DPS Chas School campus in Bokaro District where dozens of students of Chenab and Sutlej Houses enthralled  hundreds of  students and their guardians with their performance. The programme was inaugurated by Chief Guest and Bokaro DC Mukesh Kumar who stated that school  education plays an important role in development and shaping up of personality of the students.

DC Mukesh Kumar said the three words for success in life  are: C –Courage, Conviction, and Commitment, and if any person follows this with dedication and sincerity success will definitely come his/her way. Citing example of  Tomas Edison, the deputy commissioner  elaborated that as failures are success of life, it will not be correct to state that success is set of failures as before invention of Bulb the great scientist had failed more than 900 times, he added. “My sincere  advise to parents and teachers will be to make sure students are given value education,” stated DC Kumar while lavishing praise on all the performers  and tiny tots.

The inauguration was formalised with the lighting of the auspicious lamp followed by welcome song and school song. The glittering  cultural extravaganza  started  with an eye catching dance ‘Achyutam Keshvam’, a  Sambalpuri dance,  followed by Bhangra which was presented by Sutlej House after which  an orchestra  presentation was made by the school band  on patriotism. This was followed by a Bhangra dance which enthralled the audience towards the end.

Speaking on the occasion  Dr Hemlata S Mohan, Chief Mentor of the school, stated that in a very short span of less than 3 years, the school  has become one of the most promising educational destination which tries its best to help students acquire  quality knowledge, learn  better skills and develop attitudes  with strong ethical values of integrity, politeness, kindness and responsibility for purposeful living.

School Principal Neelkamal Sinha while welcoming the guests stated that the in very short time the school has made its name in educational arena not only in coal belt zone but even in the state of Jharkhand. The grand event culminated with the vote of thanks proposed by the warden of Chenab house Birendra Kr.

N  Muralidharan (PVC DPS, Chas), Suresh Agarwal (Secretary DS Memorial Society), Rashmi Sinha, Dr Padmalya, Soni Kumar, teachers, students, guardians and other staff members were present on the occasion.
