Patna : Second seed Chen Yu Fei, 21, China, defeated top seed Tai Tzu Ying, 25, Chinese Taipei, in straight games in final to win women’s singles title at Perodua Malaysia Masters, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500 event, at Kualalumpur, Malaysia,on January 12, 2020.
All England Open champion Chen secured 9,000 rankings points plus cash prize for lifting the title while Tai Tzu got 7,800 points besides cash prize. It was Chen’s 9th career title. Tai Tzu has won 25 career titles.
World No 1 Chen Yu Fei beat World No 2 Tai Tzu Ying 21-17, 21-10 in 37 minutes in final at Axiata Arena, Kualalumpur. Chen won 42 rallies in the match to 27 by Tai Tzu. She won 6 consecutive points in the match to 3 by Tai Tzu. Tai Tzu, however, still leads Chen 14-3 Head to Head.
