Patna : Reigning Olympic Champion Chen Long, 30, China, swept aside Asian Games Champion Jonatan Christie, 22, Indonesia, in straight games in the final to win the Yonex French Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 750 event, title at Paris, France, on October 27, 2019. World No 5 Chen beat World N0 7 Jonatan 21-19, 21-12 in 51 minutes in the final to win the title.

It is Chen’s 31st career title. Chen got 11,000 BWF rankings points for winning the title plus the cash award while Jonatan got 9,350 points plus cash award. Chen won 42 rallies in the match to 31 by the Indonesian. He won 7 consecutive points in the match to 5 by Jonatan. Chen now leads Jonatan 8-0 Head to Head. Chen is a two-time former World Champion.
