Patna : The state government is planning to hold a Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to BEd course being run by different universities. A committee of Vice-chancellors and experts is being constituted to give its opinion over the issue.
The decision to constitute the committee was taken unanimously at the monthly meeting of the Governor-cum-Chancellor Satya Pal Malik with the vice-chancellors of different universities at Raj Bhavan on February 13, 2018.
The Common Entrance Test will conducted on rotation basis by the universities. The CET questions will be objective ones and only the successful candidates will be selected for admission to BED course.
The Chancellor also directed all the universities to submit utilisation certificates for the fund released to them in the previous financial years at the meeting of Financial Advisors and Registrars to be held at Raj Bhavan on March 5, 2018. The officials of state Education Department will also be present at the meeting.
The Chancellor directed all the varsities to complete the elections to Students Union by March 31, 2018. The VCs informed him that they had already initiated the process and the Students Union elections will be complete in time. The Chancellor also asked the VCs to implement the decisions taken earlier to bring in reforms in the higher education sector.
