Patna : With a view to making effective use of Havildars and Constables for checking crime, DIG, Central Range, Patna Rajesh Kumar, on January 30, 2019, ordered for dividing 9,000 Havildars and Constables in Patna district into 1,200 sections, each section having five constables with the senior most heading it. The creation of 1,200 will be completed by February 20, 2019, under the supervision of SSP, Patna.
“This new system will reduce the shortage of manpower. It will improve police visibility, patrolling and raids on largescale,” DIG, Rajesh Kumar said. He said that there have been occasions when officials are unable to get required number of constables for handling a law & order problem. There have also been occasions when the jawans are found absent from duty without information, the DGI said.
The jawans divided into 1,200 sections will be deployed at police stations and other places. Big police stations will get 7 sections each while the policeline will 100 section and 200 section will be deployed for traffic control purpose. For Ward policing, 100 section will be deployed while another 100 section will be deployed at different roundabouts, chowks and checking points for crime control.
