CDPO, Ramnagar, suspended on corruption charge

Bagaha.: The state government has suspended Ramnagar Child Development project officer(CDPO) in West Champaran district, Pratima Verma on the charge of extortion of money from Aanganbadi Sevika and Sahayeeka besides other irregularities. Sources said athat Bagaha SDM Dharmendar Kumar, on a tip off, had conducted a surprise raid and recovered Rs 9,000 from the pocket of her jeep driver Suresh Kumar Singh. Many Sevika and Sahayeeka had levelled corruption charges against the CDPO before the SDM, Bagaha. DM, West Champaran, Lokesh Kumar Singh had reported the matter to the Integrated child development Scheme (ICDS) authorities through a letter on July 30, 2016. and the department concerned inquired in to the matter and suspended her.
