Chas ( Bokaro, Jharkhand) : It was a proud moment for DPS Chas in Bokaro District in Jharkhand when its Chief Mentor Dr Hemlata S Mohan announced that DPS Chas has been granted affiliation up to Senior Secondary Level by the CBSE. She was delighted to share that after a fruitful hard work, the school is proud to have the affiliation of Senior Secondary in just a span of two years. She congratulated all the staff members and students for achieving this glory.

A special assembly was organised by the students of DPS Chas to celebrate the occasion of Diwali & Chhath. Sonakshi Singh of class – IX welcomed all to the special assembly. The students gave a mind blowing performance on the Diwali Song ‘Deepawali gali gali- banke Khushi aayi’. Vaishanvi Ranjan of class- VI/A recited a poem on Diwali. The singers once again kept the audience spellbound with the Chhath song ‘Kelwa ke paat par ugelan suraj mal’.

Speaking on occasion, Chief Mentor Dr Hemlata S Mohan stressed on the importance of Diwali and stressed that we should remain emotionally attached to the poor strata of the society. She advised the children not to burst crackers and keep the environment pollution free.

Principal, DPS Chas, Neelkamal Sinha said that Diwali is a festival of lights which dispels darkness. She further added that likewise education should dispel darkness from the life of students. She also expressed her heartful thanks to  Dr Hemlata S Mohan (Chief Mentor, DPS Chas), N Muralidharan (Pro Vice Chairman, DPS Chas), Suresh Kumar Agarawal (Secretary, Durga Devi Shivnarayan Memorial Society, Chas), Ms Rashmi Sinha (Headmistress), parents, teachers, students, office staff and non-teaching staff  for guiding the school to achieve its affiliation.

On this occasion, the Best class awards were given to the different classes for the month of the September. In the category of Nursery to One . I/B was adjudged the first, from 2-5, class V/B topped while in class 6- 10, class VI/A hit the list. The Headmistress and all staff members were present on the occasion.
