Ranchi ( Jharkhand) : A CBI Special Court on February 15, 2022, convicted RJD Chief Lalu Prasad in  the biggest Animal Husbandry scam case bearing number Rs 47A/96 involving fraudulent drawal of Rs 139.35 crore from Doranda Treasury, Ranchi. It is the fifth Fodder Scam case that Lalu Prasad, a former Bihar Chief Minister and also a former Union Minister, has been convicted and is a major setback to him as well as the RJD. The quantum of punishment would be announced on February 21, 2022.
 CBI Special Judge S K Shashi on February 15, 2022, convicted Lalu Prasad 74 others in the case. Former MP Jagdish Sharma, former MLA Dr R K Rana .former Chairman, PAC, Bihar Legislature Dhruv Bhagat, and former Assistant Director, AHD, K M Prasad, were prominent among those convicted in the case. Lalu had reached Ranchi on February 13, 2022.
Public prosecutors BMP Singh appeared on behalf of CBI while  Prabhat Kumar and others appeared on behalf of Lalu. Talking to mediapersons, Prabhat Kumar stated that after the quantum of punishment is pronounced, his client will move the High Court.
A total of 96 person were made accused in Doranda case
