Patna: CBI on August 6, 2020, registered a case related to mysterious `death’ by suicide of popular Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput (SSR). Bihar Government had recommended for CBI probe into SSR’s death which the Government of India accepted and the central agency took over the investigation of case.
Earlier, an FIR was lodged with Rajiv Nagar police station, Patna, by SSR’s father K K Singh, making six persons accused in
mysterious death of his son.
Bihar Police team had gone to Mumbai to collect evidence. However, the team did not get cooperation of Mumbai Police. Irked over this, City SP Vinay Tiwary was sent to Mumbai where he was forcibly quarantined for 12 days by Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
Later, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said that if Sushant’s family demands CBI probe, he would recommend for it. Later at Singh’s request,
the state government recommended CBI probe in this much-publicised mysterious death case.
