Patna : The CBI on April 10, 2018, quizzed former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi at Patna in connection with the alleged Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) hotel scam during the tenure of her husband Lalu Prasad as the railway minister.
Sources said the CBI quizzed Rabri Devi at her Patna residence in connection with its investigation into the IRCTC scam. She was earlier quizzed by the Enforcement Directorate too. The case relates to allegations that RJD chief Lalu Prasad, as railway minister, awarded the contract of maintenance of two hotels run by the IRCTC, a subsidiary of the Indian Railways, at Ranchi and Puri to Sujata Hotel, a company owned by Vinay and Vijay Kochhar, in return for a prime plot of three acres at Patna allegedly through a benami company.
The FIR, lodged on July 5, 2017, alleged that the RJD leader misused his official position for extending undue favours to the Kochhars and acquired a piece of  premium land through the benami firm, Delight Marketing Company. After the contract was awarded to Sujata Hotel, the ownership of Delight Marketing Company also changed hands from Sarla Gupta to Rabri Devi and her son Tejaswi Yadav between 2010 and 2014.

The CBI had registered the case against Lalu, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi, and Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly. Vijay and Vinay Kochhar, both directors of Sujata Hotels and owner of Chanakya Hotel, Delight Marketing Company, now known as Lara Projects, and the then IRCTC managing director P K Goel are among named accused in the case.
