CBI files chargesheet against Shahabuddin in scribe murder case

Muzaffarpur : The CBI on August 22, 2017, filed chargesheet against six persons including former RJD MP from Siwan Mohammad Shahabuddin in the Special CBI Court, Muzaffarpur, in journalist Rajdev Ranjan murder case.

According to the chargesheet, the conspiracy to kill Rajdev Ranjan, 46, the then Siwan Bureau Chief  of Hindi daily Hindustan was hatched in jail. Rajdev was shot dead by some bike borne criminals on May 13, 2016, night, while returning home from office. The chargesheet also says that Rajdev’s murder was allegedly a fallout of his reports against Shahabuddin.

Shahabuddin was shifted to Tihar jail from Siwan jail on February 19, 2017, following an order of the Supreme Court on February 15, 2017. Shahabuddin was already facing over 30 criminal cases.
