Patna : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on June 6, 2020, arrested an official of Eastern Coalfields Ltd. posted at Rajmahal Open Cast Project (OCP), Godda, in Jharkhand, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 as first installment from a complainant. The arrested accused will be produced before Special Judge, CBI Cases, Dhanbad.
A case was registered against the said accused, a clerk, Rajmahal OCP, under Rajmahal Area of Eastern Coalfields Ltd., Godda) on a complaint. It was alleged that the accused had demanded a bribe of Rs 35,000 from the complainant for processing matter relating to his appointment on compassionate grounds subsequent to death of his father, who was an employee at Rajmahal Area, Eastern Coalfields Ltd.
The CBI later laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 25,000 as first installment from
the complainant. Incriminating documents pertaining to motive of bribe have also been seized.
