Patna : A Brinks Arya cash van carrying Rs 22 lakh cash suddenly caught fire when it reached the Exhibition road flyover around 5 pm on August 23, 2018, under Gandhi Maidan police station. The cash was to be deposited at the Union Bank of India (UBI) ATM nearby. The driver, however, managed to escape unhurt.
The fire caused some damage though reducing some documents to ashes damaging the van and its tyres. To depositor’s relief, the cash remained intact in the cash box. SHO, Gandhi Maidan police station, said that the fire tender reached at the spot soon and extinguished the fire.Police also swung into action immediately saved the cash box before it was engulfed by the fire.. Police escorted the cash van staff to the IndusInd bank located nearby where it was deposited.
