Patna : Reigning Olypic and World Champion Carolina Marin, 25, Spain, the World No 6, will play World No 8 Nozomi Okuhara, Japan, in the women’s singles final of Japan Open 2018 BWF Tour Super 750 Tournament at Tokyo on September 16, 2018. Three time World Champion Carolina Marin beat World No 5 Chen Yufei, China, 21-12, 21-13 in the semi-finals in 39 minutes. Okuhara beat World No 17 Aya Ohori, Japan, in the semi-finals.
Carolina Marina won World Championship in 2014, 2015, and 2018. She also won Gold Medal at 2016 Olympic at Rio de Janeiro.
In the men’s section, World No 26 Khosit Phetpradab, Thailand, entered the final beating World No 33 Lee Dong Keon, South Korea, 21-12, 21-16 in the semi-finals on September 15. He will play World No 4 Kento Momota, 24, Japan, in the final.
