Patna : Reigning Olympic Champion and three-time former World Champion Carolina Marin, 26, Spain, entered the final of Ecogreen Syed Modi International Badminton Championships at Lucknow, UP, India, on November 30, 2019, defeating World No 17 Kim Ga Eun, 21, South Korea, in straight games in semi-finals. She will face World No 40 Phittayaporn Chaiwan, Thailand, in final on December 1, 2019.
Carolina beat Kim Ga Eun 22-20, 21-16 in a close contest in 54 minutes in SFs. Carolina won 43 rallies in the match to 36 by Eun. She won 5 consecutive points in the match to 4 by the South Korean. Carolina now leads Eun 2-0 Head to Head.
