Patna : Canada defeated Spain 2-0 in final at Sydney, Australia, on January 9, 2022, to win the ATP Cup, a team tennis tournament played on hard courts, for the first time. For Canada, both Felix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov won their respective singles matches in final to give Canada an unassailable 2-0 lead. The double match was not played.. Sixteen team participated in the tournament conducted by Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).

World No 11 Felix Auger-Aliassime, 21, Canada, beat World No 19 Roberto Bautista Agut, 33, Spain, in straight sets 7-6, 6-3 in 2hr 9 minutes. Aliassime hammered 15 Aces during the match to none by Agut. The Canadian though also committed 6 double faults during the match to 2 by the Spaniard. Aliassime won 2 break points in the match to 1 by Agut. He won 3 games in a row during the match to 2 by the Spanbiard.
World No 14 Denis Shapovalov, 22, Canada, defeated World No 20 Pablo Carreno Busta, 30, Spain,, in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 in 1hr 38 minutes. Shapovalov won 3 break points during the match to 1 by Busta. The Canadian fired 7 Aces during the match to 1 by Busta. Shapovalov won 3 games in a row in the match to 2 by Busta.
For Spain, it was their second defeat in ATP Cup Final. Spain had earlier lost to Serbia 1-2 in final in 2020.
