Muzaffarpur : Commercial-taxes ( C-taxes) department’s Muzaffarpur unit has geared up to realise Rs 51 crore from 150 traders latest by March 31, 2017.  Joint Commissioner ( Administration), Commercial-taxes, Shambhu Kumar Singh, on March 23 said that the department would lodge FIR against those who fail to pay their tax by March 28. The department has decided to act tough with those owning over Rs 2.5 crore.

Traders falling in Muzaffarpur (East) circle owe Rs 28 crore while those under West circle owe Rs 55 crore to the department against which Rs 32 crore was collected till March 22, 2017, and Rs 51 crore remains to be realised. The department has asked the banks concerned to freez the account of defaulters.
