Muzaffarpur : Commercial-taxes department and Muzaffarpur Municipal Corporation (MMC) broke previous records of revenue collection during the financial year 2016-17. The commercial -taxes department collected a revenue of Rs 40 crore in Muzaffarpur district during 2016 -17. This included Rs 15 crore from Easter Circle and Rs 25 crore from West Circle.

Joint Commissioner, Commercial-taxes, Muzaffarpur, Shambhu Kumar Singh, said that the bank accounts of 165 defaulting traders including 115 from Eastern Circle and 50 from Western Circle had been freezed.

City Commissioner, Muzaffarpur, Ramesh Prasad Ranjan, said that the MMC collected a revenue of Rs 15.26 crore during 2016-17.In 2015-16, the revenue collection of MMC was Rs 14.51 crore.
