Buxar : Buxar police arrested four naxals including a woman when they were trying to enter the district crossing the border from Uttar Pradesh (UP) around midnight on January 10, 2022. They were en-route Jharkhand from New Delhi via Uttar Pradesh.
Buxar police also recovered Rs 12 lakh cash and 14 mobile phones from their possession and also evidences of their being naxals. Jharkhand state had issued look-out notice against them on January 6, 2022, and a named FIR was also lodged against them there. Jharkhand police reached Buxar after their arrest.
The arrested naxals were identified as Nivesh Kumar, son of Subhash Poddar of Adarsh Nagar under Dhurva police station (PS) in Ranchi District; Sbhubham Kumar Poddar, son of Ashok Poddar of Kumhar Toli under Khunti PS in Khunti District; Dhruva Kuamr, son of Balram Singh of village Sonpurunder Jagarnathpur PS in Ranchi District in Jharkhand.
Buxar SP Neeraj Kumar Singh said that police had launched vehicle checking drive at Veer Kuer Singh Bridge around midnight on January 10, 2022, when a car bearing registration number of West Bengal crossed border of Buxar District from UP. Police signaled the driver to stop the car but he accelerated the speed and tried to escape. The police team informed the Industrial police station that barricaded the area on NH-84 forcing the driver to stop the car. Police searched the car and arrested Nivesh Kumar, Shubham Poddar, Dhruva Kumar,, and a woman of Jharkhand. Plice also recovered Rs 12 lakh cash, and 14 mobile phones besides seizing the car.
The SP said that said that during interrogation, the arrested persons confessed that they owed allegiance to a Naxal organisation. The Naxals also disclosed that they were going to Jharkhand and reached Buxar via Balia in UP from New Delhi by road and the Jharkhand government had already issued look-out notice against them on January 6, 2022, and a named FIR was lodged against them for allegedly assisting a banned organization PLFI and since they were absconding. The SP stated that the Jharkhand police had already arrested some of their aides including brother of Subhash Poddar with a luxury car worth about Rs 1 crore from Dhurva of Ranchi District in Jharkhand.
