Buxar : Police, on a tip off, arrested four criminals with two pistols and four live cartridges on November 29, 2019, in connection with several of  incidents of loot and murder. Police are also conducting raids to arrest the rest of the members of the gang on the basis of revelation made by the arrested criminals.

The arrested criminals were identified as Suraj Singh of Balihar under Simari police station, Gauri Shankar Ram and Chhotu Ram of Majharia under Induatrial police station, and Ritesh Kumar Rawat of Nehru Nagar under Buxar town police station.

Buxar SP Upendra Nath Verma said that he got information that a liquor smuggler Suraj Singh had come to his village  Balihar. Police conducted raids at Baliahr and arrested Suraj Singh along with a countrymade pistol and two live cartridges. During interrogation, Suraj Singh confessed before that he and his two associates: Gauri Shankar Ram and Chhotu Ram of Majharia village under Industrial police station, were responsible for firing on an employee of Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company, Buxar branch, at Pratapsagar under New Bhojpur police station. Love affair was said to be cause behind the incident.

The SP stated that police at once conducted raids at Majharia village and arrested Gauri Shankar Ram and Chhotu Ram from there and also seized a countrymade pistol and two live cartridges from their possession. He said that the trio along with Ritesh Kumar Rawat of Nehru Nagar under Buxar Town police station had snatched about Rs 5 lakh cash from the son of a CSP owner near Ahirauli Dam on November 5, 2019. Police also arrested Ritesh Kumar Rawat from his house immediately.
