Buxar : Police arrested two persons and sent them to jail for allegedly selling a married woman of Itadhi in Buxar district in Rajasthan. Police are conducting raids to arrest the rest of the accused and also contacting their counterparts in Rajasthan to recover the woman. A named FIR was lodged with Itadhi police station in Buxar district against six persons in connection with kidnapping of a married woman about two months ago.

The arrested miscreants were identified as Hakim Chauhan of Itadhi village under the same police station and Sanjay Chauhan of Kochadhi village under Rajpur police station in Buxar district.

SHO, Itadhi police station, Alok Kumar, quoting the fIR, said that some youth lured a married woman and brought her to Kochadhi village under Rajpur police station in Buxar district on August 31, 2020, where they outraged her modesty after intoxicating her. Later, they sold her in Rajasthan. Her family members searched for her everywhere but did not inform the police due to social stigma. Meanwhile, the woman contacted her family members and narrated her ordeals on mobile phone. She told them that the miscreants sold her in Rajasthan at Rs 1.10 lakh. After that, her family members lodged a named FIR with police against six persons.
