Buxar DPO arrested accepting bribe from retd school teacher

Buxar : An eight member team of State Vigilance Investigation Bureau from Patna on April 12, 2017, arrested District Programme Officer (DPO), Education Department, Buxar, Vinayak Pandey, red handed accepting Rs 15,000 as bribe from a retired school teacher Akshaywatnath Pandey.

A school teacher Akshyawatnath Pandey of village Jamuni Dehra under Rajpur police station in Buxar district retired from the service in 2014. He complained to the Vigilance Bureau that the DPO Vinayak Pandey was harassing him and demanding Rs 15,000 for clearing his retrial benefits.

A Vigilance Bureau team inquired into the allegations against the DPO and found them true after which a trap was laid to arrest him. A bureau team comprising Md Zaqir and Arun Kumar, both DSPs, Uday Shankar and Ishwar Kumar, Inspectors, and four others laid a trap and arrested DPO Pandey accepting a bribe of Rs 15.000 from Akshaywatnath Pandey from his residence located near Sugar Mill. Later, the vigilance team took the arrested DPO to Patna.
