Buxar : Fast Track Court II, Buxar, Judge Birendra Singh, on August 7, 2019, sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment one Kiran Devi imprisonment and also slapped a fine of Rs 15,000 on her for killing her husband in October 2017.

Ram Krishna Choubey, advocate for the plaintiff, said that Deepak Kumar, son of Angad Singh of village Bhelupur under Itadhi police station in Buxar district, was married to Kiran Devi, daughter of Bharat Singh of Ward No 24, Dakshin Tola, Dumraon, and had a daughter. After the birth of the daughter, relation between Deepak Kumar and his wife Kiran Devi got strained. Deepak Singh alleged that Kiran Devi had irelation with another person whom she talked to on mobile phone. He protested that which caused quarrel between the two.

On October 1, 2017, Kiran Devi’s brother took his sister to Dumraon. On October 20, 2019, Kiran Devi called Deepak Singh informing him that their daughter was very serious. Deepak Singh rushed to his in-laws’ house at Dumraon the same day where he was killed while sleeping.

A named FIR was lodged with Dumraon police station. After institution of FIR, police started investigation into the matter and submitted charge-sheet in the court against Kiran Devi and her friends : Chhotu Yadav and Rohit Kumar. The Court transferred the case of Chhotu Yadav to the Juvenile Court and started proceeding against Kiran Devi as Rohit Kumar was shown absconding in the charge-sheet.

After hearing both the parties, the court found Kiran Devi guilty of killing her husband with the help of her friends and sentenced her to rigorous life imprisonment and also slapped a fine of Rs 15,000 on her.
