Muzaffarpur : With river Budhi Gandak breaching Rajbara embankment in a stretch of 50 feet under Musahari block in Muzaffarpur district late August 19, 2017, night, the flood situation has deteriorated in Muzaffarpur district.
The place where the Rajbara embankment has breached is 8 km east of Muzaffarpur Town. Muzaffarpur – Pusa road has been closed for traffic following the breach in Rajbara embankment. A large number of villages have been inundated due to flood in Budhi Gandak and the flood affected people are shifting to safer places. Sixtyfour panchayats under 9 blocks of the district are reeling under the flood.
The flood water has also entered Primary Health Centre (PHC), Musahari, building and local police station campus. Muzaffarpur MP Ajay Nishad visited the flood affected areas and urged the flood affected people to shift to safer places. Rescue and relief operation are being carried out on war footing under the supervision of DM Dharmendra Singh. Bochaha MLA Baby Kumari also visited several flood affected areas.
