Patna : Although Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) on June 16, 2017, terminated licence of a petrol pump allotted in 2011 to the present Bihar Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav, elder son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, the same could not be sealed following a temporary injunction order of Patna Civil Court the same day which will remain effective till the next hearing of the case. The next hearing of matter is scheduled for June 23, 2017.

The BPCL had sent the licence termination order to M/s Lara Automobiles, represented by its proprietor Tej Pratap Yadav, as he allegedly failed to give a convincing reply to the notice issued to him on May 29, 2017, over the allocation of the petrol pump. Tej Pratap’s younger brother and Deputy CM Tejaswi Prasad Yadav has termed BPCL’s action as one sided.

The BPCL has charged Tej Pratap’s firm with violating the terms and conditions of Dispensing Pumps and Selling Licence (DPSL) agreement. The BPCL had sought to know from Tej Pratap how he was running the petrol pump despite being a minister. Tej Pratap holds charge of Health, Minor Water Resources and Environment and Forest Departments. Senior BJP leader and former Bihar deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi had raised the issue of irregularities in allotment of the petrol pump recently.

Tej Pratap’s firm had moved had moved Patna Civil Court on June 8, 2017, challenging the notice issued to him on May 29 by the BPCL seeking an explanation for the alleged violation of certain norms in getting allotment of the petrol pump located on Annisabad bypass road, Patna.
