Bokaro SP constitutes QAF to check crime

Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : In a move aimed at checking urban crime including two- wheeler and four -wheeler robberies, chain snatching, loot, dacoities and eve teasing, Bokaro SP M Y Ramesh is initiating new measures to make police more effective. The SP has decided to  constitute Quick Action Force (QAF) and will be dividing existing police stations into smaller several wards making one senior cop totally responsible for law and order in that area.

The Bokaro SP has decided to constitute ‘ Quick Action Force’ (QAF) in which 26 specially chosen dynamic cops imparting commando training  at para-military camp (Bokaro) have been divided  into two groups which will be available round the clock  at Composite control Room (CCR–just next to Bokaro SP office) to strike without waiting for police station cops to give results.

The QAF, which will be equipped with sophisticated arms and information gadgets, will strike in emergency situation for which all  the cops are being imparted special training including controlling riots,  checking road jams, nabbing seasoned criminals  hiding at secluded places, helping para-military forces  in detecting explosives  besides attacking maoists and criminal hideouts.

As per direction given to CCR, a medical team along with ambulance, fire brigade, anti riot ‘Braj van and even SUVs will be present to help the QAF as per their requirement. Giving details of posting of  police officials posted in different wards after a police station  will be divided into three, the SP stated that once smaller wards are demarcated the police officials concerned will be held responsible for any crime under their jurisdiction.

“At present, most of the police stations are spread over several kilometres radius and once three to four wards are made under one police station, the officials will work in their zones to give  best active policing and they will even be given the task to cultivate intelligence network for better law and order,” the SP said. The officers incharge (OCs) have been directed not to interfere in land disputes and should work as per guidance given by courts and in case of any controversy must ask parties to go in shelter of court rather than cops themselves becoming parties to land disputes.
